Excerpts from BrightSide flyer distributed by the City of Palm Desert

Every 3 months Palm Desert send a newsletter called the Bright Side to our mailboxes. Yesterday’s edition had 3 events that looked interesting.

Free concerts at the Civic Center Park starting May 1.
Astronomical Society offers Stargazing up the hill from us. You must register to participate.
Free entry to the Palm Springs Air Museum to Palm Desert residents Saturday May 3.

Concerts at the Civic Center – 5 Thursdays in May from 7pm to 8:30pm

May 1 – TLR is an Eagles tribute band
May 8 – Stone Soul performs Motown and Classic Soul
May 15 – Eric Sage & Young Guns brings High Energy Country Music
May 22 – Pop Vinyl performs the greatest songs of yesterday and today
May 29 – Jimmy’s Buffet sings, wait for it, Jimmy Buffet melodies

Astronomical Society of the Desert

They will conduct “Sky Tours” and direct observations of the night sky through telescopes and giant binoculars at the Monument. You must register online or by phone to participate. Call 760-862-9984 or visit DesertMountains.org/events.
May 3 at 7:30pm
May 24 at 8:30pm
June 14 at 8:45pm
June 28 at 8:00pm
The article does say “Events are subject to change”. I’m wondering a little about that early start time on June 28.

Palm Desert Day at the Palm Springs Air Museum

Free Admission to Palm Desert residents on Saturday May 3. The museum is open from 10am to 5pm. You must show a valid California ID with a Palm Desert address or a Utility Bill in your name or an ID badge proving employment at a Palm Desert business.
Gather a group and go see some cool planes and military vehicles. A group of Veterans in our park went together 18 months ago on Veterans Day. We all had fun looking around, talking about things, and just being together as a group.

Thanks for highlighting these events, David!
it’s easy to miss the Bright Side Newsletter amid grocery store ad flyers and other mail, but it is regularly informative, worth perusing.
    Thanks again!
